THE re-opening of Uffculme High Street was welcomed by a meeting of the village's parish council on Thursday.
The road had been closed for several weeks after a house became unsafe, causing inconvenience to residents.
Proposals to develop land near junction 27 of the M5 were also discussed.
Councillor Mike Hilson told the meeting he thought it inappropriate that Mid Devon Council leader Peter Hare-Scott comment on the proposals before a planning application had been lodged.
The council also voted in favour of a proposal to increase burial fees.
