TIVERTON lost in the semi-finals of the East Devon Junior League at Honiton on Friday.

Tiverton had halved their match 3-3 with East Devon, who edged through on the second extra hole.

Harry Konig (6&5), Ben Hearn (2&1) and Alex Gibson (5&4) won in normal time while Nixie Acfield (2&1), Tom Trowbridge (3&1) and Daniel Perry (1-down) were beaten.

Perry agonisingly missed a five-footer on the 18th to halve his match having been four down with five to play. Fingle Glen beat East Devon 5.5-0.5 in the final.

Tiverton's ladies completed a friendly double over Woodbury Park with a 4-3 away victory on Thursday.

Charlotte Snow and Jan Cruse (3&2), Annette Cardwell and Caroline Anderson (1-up), Christine Norton and Julie Hasell (8&7) and Dori Bracken and Gina Churchill (5&4) were Tiverton's winners.

Oki Northwood and Chris Coombes (3&2), Bracken and Ann Fielding (4&3), Norton and Shirley Paxton (5&4) and Anne Franklin and Jackie Slocombe (5&4) were victorious in the 4-0 win at home.

Duncan Hepburn returned one of the best rounds of the year to win Hong's Challenge by a point.

He fired four birdies, including two in the first three holes, and then on the first two holes of the back nine.

Despite dropped shots at each of the last three holes, Hepburn had done enough to edge out John Broomhead and Mike Partridge.
