MEMBERS of Tiverton Civic Society have to wait until a later date to hear from former Blundell's head Ian Davenport following the postponement of a planned talk.

Mr Davenport was to be the speaker at the October meeting of the society, but his place has been taken by Keith Weedon, who will give an illustrated talk on the past, present and future of Poltimore House.

Poltimore House, near Exeter, was featured in the BBC Restoration series. The important listed mansion, dating from Tudor periods, is being rescued from a state of decay, damage and vandalism. Keith is one of the senior trustees of the restoration programme.

The meeting will be held at 7.30pm on Tuesday, October 16, in the Mayoralty Room of Tiverton Town Hall. The charge for non-members of the Tiverton Civic Society is £3.
