THIS year will be the fourth year running that the Tiverton and Cullompton Volunteer Centre, working in partnership with other voluntary/community organisations and local businesses, organises the Tiverton Mayor's Big Christmas Shop.

Volunteers are needed on Friday, December 7, from 1pm to 4pm to help older and/or disabled people who rely on support get about Tiverton town to shop, have a bite to eat, see the sights and enjoy some festive cheer! You can volunteer individually, in a pair or as a family. Volunteers should be physically fit, as you may be asked to push a wheelchair which can be quite hard work! You will also need to be friendly, easy to talk to and prepared to make this a special day for people who otherwise would find carrying out this seasonal task virtually impossible.

The Mayor has invited shoppers and volunteers for tea and coffee in the Town Hall from 3pm, but volunteers can come for as much or as little of the day as they can spare.

Call Involve on 01884 255734 if you would like to help or with any enquiries.
