DESPITE bad weather, the annual Sandford Flower Show was well supported.

There were fewer entries in the flower and vegetable sections but organisers report that there were more in the cookery, floral art and photography classes.

Floral art was thought to have a high number of entries due to the fact that Donna Lamb, had held flower arranging classes. She is now running more classes in the Congregational Church Hall.

Top trophy winners were Dave Friendship, who took home three cups in the flower and vegetable sections; Cleave Collins, also in flower and vegetable sections; Elaine Stanlake, in floral art and photography and Zoe Jackson, Lorna Cheriton, Irene Spencer and Richard Burstin. Children's trophies were awarded to Amy Cheriton, Sara Glass, and Beth Hughes.
